Back to basics

Assallaam my peeps!!!

The planning and designs of my new autumn/winter collection were finalized yesterday, which I'm completely stoked about. The collection will consist of twelve designs, which I've put alot of thought into... as well as selecting the perfect fabric to compliment each design. My sample range will be ready on 23 March 2015 and the new face of Bespoke will be announced shortly thereafter.

Also to let you know that I've sourced a beautiful venue for my fashion show that will be held in April 2015 Insha Allah. Once the date has been confirmed. Tickets will then go on sale intermediately. I must say that this is such a surreal time for me and I'm incredibly excited.

Now back to basics. Wardrobe essentials are the building blocks to a sold functional style. They can simply be worn with anything at almost anytime of the year. You can never go wrong with plain basic staples, they classic and  never get outdated. Black is considered to be a staple for classy fashionista's. However in the warmer months the trick is to add a pop of colour to your palette. Think of it as a canvass to build your outfit on. My idea of  basic staples would be a black skirt,  black pant,  long black dress, white shirt, white and black tee, a jean pant that fits perfectly, a beautifully fitted blazer and a cardie.

In my post today I'm wearing a simple styled turban using a black pashmina and as my focus was to work off a black canvas  (black  pant and a black  long sleeved top), I've  adding some colour by pairing it with a colourful kimono, tan heels, tan belt and a black clutch and gold choker and not forgetting the chunky ring.

Ladies remember that your closet essentials are your outfit fixers.
Hope you all having a splendid week.

The TEE...!!!

 Salaam lovely readers.

As most of you know by now, I have teamed up with Nazeera Hassen, from Infallible photography AKA my_hijablifestyle_sa. as the official photographer of Bespoke.  Being an extremely pedantic individual I must say that it took me a while to find the right kind of person to collaborate with. May this venture grow to great heights. Insha Allah.

Now with regards to the new face of Bespoke. I have been receiving emails and messages from ladies wanting to know why the sudden change? From a marketing perspective, I personally believe that it will be good for my brand to take on a new, fresh, face to represent Bespoke. However  I will still continue to blog and do fashion post as I normally have been. So I ain't going nowhere. Also to let you know that I have received numerous entries and will be making my final decision in weeks to come.

What I'm wearing in  my post today, is an outfit I wore out on a lunch date with a friend, which I haven't seen in years. So it was great catching up on lost times. Anyway the look was somewhat causal and adding a grey sports blazer by it giving it a little edge. I must say that t-shirts have really grabbed my attention this season so I paired it with a crisp white Tee. In the late 1960s, the T-shirt became a means of self expression as wearable art as well as to convey commercial advertising, souvenir messages, and protests.  I believe that it has become a huge trend with so many different designs, many colours of fabric as well as many variations of cuts and styles are added as options. Including: crew neck, raglan, ringers, tanks, baby doll, spaghetti strap, V neck, A-shirts, camisole, polo, and many more. Now onto my bottoms, I decided on dark blue denims and a tan wedge which is oh so comfy.  A colourful turban look I'm sporting, is a style which I literally created whilst getting dressed. Kept the accessories very basic by adding a chunky ring and necklace and a bracelet which I bought back in the day from one of the very first accessories stores in Sandton City .

Flat out fabulous and details of my new collection ..... Happy days!!!!

Salaam lovelies!!!

The weather has been quite hot in Johannesburg  and I can't seem to get enough of it.
With my  Dollie being at big school my routine has changed quite a bit. Very different to when she was at playground. Besides the extra mural activities and most importantly having to be at madressah in the afternoons. It literally leaves me feeling like a taxi driver.

My schedule has been kind of manic. I sometimes wished I could buy more time during the day. However I've started planning a new winter range. Which I am very excited about. I have also employed a designer that officially starts on 11 February 2015 that will be assisting me, as well as a whole new sewing team. My range will be launched at my very first fashion show. PS (date to be confirmed) which I am currently working towards and all items will be available to purchase on my store at the end of March... beginning of April 2015. It's gonna be awesome. Great quality and gorgeous designs....I can count on that!!!!

As I'm wanting a  new and fresh approach to my winter collection. I will be scouting for a new face of the brand. All details will be posted on all social media platforms. Keep watching!!!!

Now onto my lookpost!!! I am wearing a navy blue cardie which can be bought online and is currently on sale  http://bespokehijabibywhshop.com/ I decided to pair it up with grey skinny pant and white shirt and baby blue heels and kept my accessories to a minimal by adding a pop of colour with a neon necklace and bright lippies. A baby blue ring and a  simple navy leather bag. As I am always experimenting with my turban in this post I have wrapped it using two scarves. I am always trying new styles and adding new twist to them. I must also say that I have been addicted to bright and bold matte lippies this summer. What I have on is a retro matte, flat out fabulous C74. from Mac. Absolutely in love...
