Bollywood

Slm to one and all.

December has finally arrived. The season for pumpkin spice and crowded malls. Also the time of the year to enjoy staff parties and idle away. As one of my younger sisters, will also be tying the knot on 27 December 2014 in Cape Town Insha allah. I am supper excited to be flying to Cape Town this Wednesday, to go an assist mama with the last and final preparations. Cannot wait!

Today's look post was an outfit I wore to my hubbies cycling clubs year end function, themed Bollywood. I decided to go with wearing a saree. Keeping in mind that I had to Hijabify the whole look by keeping it modest. My sister and I came across pearl Daisy's you-tube video which provided us with a step by step tutorial guide and handy tips which were extremely usefully on how to style and tie a modest saree.

As the Saree is full of embellishments. I decided to go with a very simple turban style and added a diamante piece which I bought a year ago from a little haberdashery store in the Oriental Plaza, which just gives it a bit of pizzazz. I kept the Accessories to a minimal by just wearing a pair of chunky diamante earrings and bangles. A simple black clutch and an elegant sandal.

I also had the privilege of doing my beautiful friend Layla Peck's makeup yet again and styled her turban. Needless to say that we are always fashionably late.

So my lovelies the saree is worn with an underskirt and tight fitted top called a choli. The undergarments were not oft worn in antiquity - but became the fashion requirement under the influence of Victorian English ideas in the 19th century. Tribal and village women today are still wearing their sarees the natural and comfortable way. The sari is also worn with a petticoat or underskirt - it serves as a waistband to tuck the upper edge and pleats into and as a slip to prevent see through.

So my Lovelies
Until next time
Stay beautiful
Much love
&
Happy holidays!!!!
