Navy the new black

Slmz Madams!!!

Hope you all well and feeling blessed.

My look post is all about how navy has become the New Black.

Thinking back to my teen years and even early twenties the colour Navy just didn't have an effect on me... it was a complete no... no.. for me. I always visualized Navy to be a very cooperate colour. However for the past two years the colour has some what grown on me. So crazy that I probably have an equal amount of navy verses black in my closet. So here I am.... in my navy chino's and as I have such love for all things bright and beautiful.. spiced it up with colour.

Soooooo Madams.....Navy has become the new black so it is important to know how to wear it with all of that stuff you already own, from the days when black was the new black. For many years mixing navy blue and black was considered a big fashion no-no, so it is understandable that women are sometimes hesitant to mix the two. These days, fashion is more flexible and the mixing of navy blue and black can be used to create an extra dimension. As long as it is done properly.

The key to mixing navy blue and black is to ensure that it appears as an intentional style decision. You do not want people to think that you were half asleep when getting dressed, and that you just got confused. Think crisp black, and the navy blue should be light enough to not be mistaken for black. If necessary accentuate the different colours with different materials – this is naturally done if the navy/black difference is done with a belt or
shoes.

Cobalt blue

Slm  my Ladies.

Hope you had a fantastic weekend and ready to get this week started.

Been meaning to do this look post last week Friday already. However time just got the better of me.
Sooo my ladies... My look post is an outfit that I wore to my first ever Hijab workshop. Cobalt blue and paired it with floral Capri pant, gold accessories and a cream shoe.....

So my ladies....Cobalt blue is a hot trending color straight off the catwalks for spring/summer 2013. From outerwear to glam accessories, cobalt blue is everywhere this season. The cobalt blue trend might be exactly the wardrobe update you’re looking for. Cobalt blue is sure to add energy and intensity to any wardrobe.

One of my favorite things about putting together a colorful outfit is having the freedom to play with contrast and mood, regardless of the weather or season.  color is an excellent way to liven up any outfit, be it work-wear, formal-wear or lazy-Sunday-wear and my current favorite is cobalt blue.

Cobalt blue is another description for electric blue. What’s more, cobalt blue is a color that can be worn by women of any age without having to regard the suitability of their age against the shade to wear it. Cobalt blue is the perfect mix of trendy and sophistication for any season, any weather and any occasion.

Don’t go head to toe cobalt blue. That’s just tacky. Instead break it up with complimentary colors.
Avoid dark colors such as mauves, browns or teal that will offset or distract the stunning hue of cobalt blue.

Compliment the cobalt blue by teaming gold or silver accessories  with your cobalt blue .

Floral & Vintage

Hellooooooo My lovely lads...

Hip Hip Hooray... It's Wednesday Today... Can't believe how the weeks just fly by....

Anyways...........

Due to my addiction for anything vintage. Decided to do this look post for you. So here I am in my little vintage floral shirt, adding a pop of apple green and spiced it up with my 6 inch Aldo Pumps.

I love Being bold with color and experiment with new and unexpected mixes of vintage floral.

As is customary with fashion trends, vintage floral has made a comeback. Yet, rocking it properly takes a little bit of thought. The last thing you want to do is walk out of your house looking like you robbed your grandma's closet. Luckily, it isn't all that difficult to pull off once you have the right accessories. Floral prints are adorable but, after you cross a certain age threshold and no longer have to hold your mom's hand to cross the street, it's time to spice up the floral prints so that it doesn't look like you still belong in elementary school.

Ways to add a modern touch to the vintage Items. Try contrasting colors to give it a bold touch but don't overdo it. If the floral print is large and flashy, go with a subtle, accessories.

Shoes are also a great way to balance out the vintage look.  They provide the perfect neutral look to go with any floral design, yet they have enough of a modern feel to take you from grandma to sexy with just the slip of a shoe.

However, the same rule applies. If the floral print has a lot going on, keep the shoes simple. If it is a subtle print, than take it to the next level by wearing a pair of shoes that really make a statement. It's all about balancing it out, keeping the equilibrium. You want to make looking good appear effortless, not like you are trying desperately to keep up with current trends.

Mellow Yellow with a little bit of Le green

Slm my apple pies

Hope you all had an awesome weekend. On that note, I had a very relaxed weekend. Alghamdulilah. No workshops, No Wedding Makeup, No Photo-shoots. Home sweet home... With my family... How Awesome....

So had to attend a braai on Sunday afternoon and with having such hot and dry weather in Johannesburg, I never know what to where. Especially with wearing Hijab. As I gotta keep it modest and still be covered and at the same time be able to wear items that are suitable to the weather conditions. The best part was that the afternoon was spent in a beautiful garden. So Cool and refreshing and filled with a great ambiance.

So my apple pies this is what I wore to a braai on Sunday.... Bought this Maxi online and it has been laying in my closet for a while...... so decided to funk it up... and styled my fave Mohawk turban style scarf. Will also be posting the turban tutorials soon... that you beauties have requested me to do.
