Religious Article

Assallam to all you gorgeous people all over the world.

I know I've been slack with post lately. But nonetheless... I wanted to share a look post with you which I'm really excited about. . For those of you that missed it. I was granted an amazing opportunity to be part of a religions article in the Marie Claire Feb issue 2014.

I was also able to style myself. Which was a great way to express my sense of style and also a platform as a proud Muslimah, showcasing that by wearing Hijab I feel liberated knowing that I am a symbol of a beautiful faith and a woman amongst many who still look and feel beautiful through dressing modestly and respectfully. One of the main misconceptions of the Hijab is that it is oppressive. It isn't at all. Wearing the Hijab isn't meant to make you feel as though you're secluded.Wearing the Hijab is simply a way to look fabulous, without showing too much.

I feel proud. protected and respected when wearing my Hijab.
I feel as though I am making the Hijab so much more accessible to young women who are interested in making the esteemed change but are afraid to
lose their personal style along the way. Wearing my Hijab allows me to
feel as though I belong to something greater than myself and this
brings me so much of comfort. PS I might not be a perfect woman in Hijab as my journey still continuous.

Last but not least I would to thank the whole team at Marie Claire Magazine for making all this possible. Great working with such amazing talent.
Thank you all so much.
You guys rock!!!!!
xoxo

All about the Midi, Le Polka Dot

Slm beautiful Ladies,

Hope you are all well.

A short and sweet look post.......

Sooooooooo fell it love with it the instant I laid my eyes on it.. My first ever Legit purchase. A round of Applause to that. Totally in love with my purchase and decided to give you some insight on the Flair/fitted Midi. So my lovelies this silhouette is definitely here to stay, and with the new season bringing new fabrics such as; tulle, lace, jacquard, floral prints etc. The silhouette of the midi skirt gained fame in the 1940s and has remained a must duplicate look for almost 20 years. In the 70's it was declared as a must have item.

What is considered a Midi Skirt
What makes a skirt a midi is length. It can be flared or fitted it really doesn't matter; length is truly the determining factor. A midi skirt is one that runs below the knee to mid-calf. It is usually made with a higher waist line and compliments almost all body types and that is why it is such a popular trend. The fitted version looks amazing on almost every woman. The flared version is girly and is usually made in fabric that has more body or layers, like tulle and taffeta.

Hope you enjoyed my post
Until next time
Stay blessed
and keep it covered!
Much love
xoxo

My fave winter/fall makeup trends for 2014

As-salaam ladies.

Hope you all well and keeping warm.......

Know I've been slack on blog post lately. So in the meantime I decided to share with you my favourite winter makeup trends for 2014. Know I promised a winter vlog trend and also more hijab tutorials. Insha Allah, I'm working on them all and will have them as soon as I'm done.

THE BERRY LIP

The berry lips look is arguably the signature look of Fashion Fall/Winter 2014.This season it's all about the bold berry stained lips, be it a very deep or softer shade of berry, grab anything berry this season and you good to go. PS choose a berry shade appropriate to your skin tone.

THE SMOKEY EYE

What is sexier and more mysterious than a Smokey eye makeup? This season, “smoke” reaches the ceiling, meaning the eye brows! Colours to play around with are black, bronze and khaki. To copy the trend, pair your intense Smokey with a light peachy toned lipstick.

THE NO MAKEUP LOOK

The “no makeup”  The trend does not imply that we should go out nude from mascara or concealer but to use products that give natural textures and skin coloured effects, just enough to make us look healthy. That translates into fresh and dewy foundation, a good but light concealer and a fine milled powder, creamy colour eye-shadows, pinky- rosey blushes and rosey lips. Do not forget to add a thin black liner on top lash lines and mascara!
